We, the undersigned, recognise both the high academic reputation of Birzeit
University and the adverse situation it has faced for years as a result of
the illegal Israeli military occupation.

We therefore call for friendship and twinning links at all levels between
the universities of Birmingham and BirZeit in order to provide solidarity
and support to the students and staff of Birzeit and to promote the free
exchange of scholarship and research.
