Newcastle PSC have recently twinned with Qalqilya.

The Apartheid Wall surrounds Qalqilya, formerly the bread basket of Palestine.

Qalqilya has 43,000 residents of whom more than 35,000 are registered refugees.

Many students from Qalqilya go to An-Najah University

Grassroots Twinning - Twinning campaigns should be between communities, not between bureaucrats. The leaders and the councils are welcome to twin with each other, but the most important thing is direct contact between the communities themselves.

Please join Newcastle Qalqilya Friendship Association, a loose network of people who are interested in Palestine by e-mailing us.

The Apartheid wall surrounds Qalqilya, totally imprisoning the town and its people.
