Video about Mohammed Omer from Yibna in Gaza. On 16 June, at the BAFTA, John Pilger introduced and awarded the 2008 Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism to Mohammed Omer and Dahr Jamail. Mohammed Omer, 24, was the youngest person to be awarded this prestigious prize. The Israeli government tried to prevent Mohammed Omer, who is from Rafah in Gaza, from attending the BAFTA event. Eventually, under international pressure, Mohammed Omer was able to leave Gaza and what a powerful and eloquent acceptance speech he gave at the BAFTA, which you can view at: www.humanrightstv.com/episode/469

Yibna in Gaza, is where the British photojournalist Tom Hurndall and TV cameraman James Miller, were shot dead by Israeli snipers.
